A Licensed Realtor® specializing in Commercial Real Estate and Investments in the Central Texas region, Rik began his career in marketing and advertising working for nationally and regionally recognized agencies for major Fortune 500 clients. His past work includes campaigns, promotions and various deliverables for companies like 3M, Seagate, Hewlett Packard, Southwest Airlines, Brinker International, Taco Cabana, Caterpillar, Texas Tourism and others.

Rik also founded a successful design studio focused on place-based marketing for economic development and tourism, as well as regional companies looking to enter new markets. He specialized in positioning clients looking to enter new markets or expand into existing ones, including strategy development, creative copy writing, and project management. Through his experiences, he developed an ability to identify internal and external obstacles to his client’s stated objectives, finding effective solutions which take into account clients’ short and long-term strategies.

Born in Ohio, raised in Michigan and Texas, Rik graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelors in Studio Art and a Masters in Archeology. He is also certified in Technical Illustration and Mechanical Drafting. Rik is actively involved in his community as President of the San Marcos Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association and volunteers for other non-profit organizations including Blue Santa, Salvation Army, Leadership San Marcos and The San Marcos Education Foundation. He is also involved in the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce, the Austin Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater San Marcos Partnership. He lives in San Marcos with his wife and has three grown children. He enjoys Bible study, spending time with family, skeet shooting, archery and travel.
